Architecture matters, but isn’t always understood beyond the academe or industry. Join us every Sunday in March at the MOV for coffee, tea, and a double shot of presentations about architecture, landscape architecture and urban design, theory, and practice.

With an aim to spark participatory and accessible discussions about the role of architecture in our community and beyond, SALA SPEAKS @MOV is a 4-part series presented in partnership with the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA) at the University of British Columbia, that invites their faculty to speak to the wider issues, inspirations, and challenges that configure their research, practice, and teaching here in Vancouver.

Featuring thematic pairings that evolve from week to week - from Technology, to Constructing, Parts to Wholes and City Systems - we invite you to join us in this month-long series of “master classes”, and engage in what we hope to be a thoughtful dialogue on both the cultural impact of architectural thinking and practice in Vancouver, as well as their civic implications and applications.

MARCH 25: City Systems
Addressing the notion of "city systems", Patrick Mooney's talk will highlight the importance of natural capital in our urban region, while Patrick Condon shares his thinking about the future of a "streetcar city".
